shorterexcerpts: danhacker: Mob.Logic.tv’s Lindsey Campbell asking people on the streets of Georgia about their gay marriage opinions Once again it becomes very evident how backwards people still are in the South and this saddens me because I am from the south and can’t relate to the mindset 90% of these people have. There is one guy who blatantly says how behind the times the South is. That...

I really hate people sometimes, case in point:  peterwknox: “And he (the security guard) goes ‘there’s a lady whose son says he saw you guys making out, and I did, too. And you have to stop.’ And I said ‘well, we weren’t making out, but we were kissing and I’m not going to stop,’” said Guerrero. The security guard then said, “The mom doesn’t want to explain to the kids why two girls are...

gooneruk: Somehow, while being out after work yesterday meeting a few friends and then my girlfriend for a couple of drinks, I forgot to eat. As I didn’t get home until gone 11, I didn’t bother then either. This seems to be a purely male thing. My boyfriend “forgets” to eat too. How do you do that? I never “forget” to eat. sharingtime: My friend told me the following story about his fraternity at a liberal arts school on the east coast. I have no idea what to make it of it, other than to note that human nature is a funny thing. A guy in his frat, we’ll call him John, was extremely introverted. He had a hard time talking to women. Not surprisingly, John was also a virgin in his 20s, despite being surrounded by...

I'm not in jail.
For anyone who was curious. Still have to go before the judge tomorrow, spent all morning in court today though. It’s a long, long story complete with lost files, changes of plea agreements and general frustration. Off to enjoy my afternoon/night in Austin before I must return to court at 8:30am tomorrow.

Open minded yet underhanded
foodinmouth: Earlier Sarah wrote about being open-minded. And this is a tangent, but earlier in the day a few people reblogged this picture that said something like, “I am hot and smart enough to be a pain in the ass,” which basically says I am confident in myself to a degree where I could give less than a damn if everyone else thinks I am a pain in the ass. My name is Sarah and I'm a correct-aholic.
(“Hi, Sarah!”) I have a quirk, it’s not a bad quirk, but it’s hard to control. I compulsively feel the need to correct people all the time. On the internet, I have to physically restrain myself from typing little notices correcting other’s grammar and spelling. I mean, I make mistakes too, but my OCD makes it hard for me to ignore an errant “definately”...

What does it mean to be "open-minded"?
My mother thinks my brother and I are closed-minded. While MM, my mother and myself were at lunch the other day, she said as much. MM wholeheartedly agreed with her. Your Daily Dose of Ignorance
Greg: i already had a conversation with a girl at work
Greg: mind you she's a waitress, has two kids
Greg: is like 25
Greg: she says "Oh, I hate Obama"
Greg: so rather than argue i say
Greg: "why do you hate him?" curious as to how anyone of our generation could hate him
Greg: "Well you know he was a muslim"
Greg: "No, he wasn't"- me
Greg: "Well, on his website it says that he wants to only tax white people"
Greg: "I haven't heard about that, but I can guaranfuckingtee you thats not true"
Greg: especially because he's half white
Greg: so he'd be taxing himself
Greg: "I don't know he just scares me."
Greg: "Because he's black?"- me
Greg: "No, just something about him."
Greg: "No, its cause he's black"- me
Greg: people are so fucking stupid
Greg: I've said it twice but i think i mean it this time
Greg: if this country fucks this one up
Greg: i seriously might be done
A NITPICK ... what does her being a waitress with 2 kids have to do with anything? Being a waitress does not mean you are uninformed or dumb. Granted, her comments support that, but still, that's not an important factor in her views. Plus, having 2 kids at the age of 25 means nothing either. People have kids early, it doesn't necessarily mean they're ignorant. That comment smacks of ... guess what! elitism! Like, you can just disregard and dismiss her opinions because of her station and circumstances in life. She's a 25-year-old waitress with 2 kids -- I say good for her for supporting her children! Goddamn.
Also, we prefer to be called "servers".
