I have had too much fun creating this No More Nice Girls-inspired playlist. Ellen Willis for sure had her own opinions about music, so this is in no way trying to speculate as to what she would have or would not have liked (except for the Janis Joplin; she’s on the record as loving her). Instead, when I was playlist-curating, I thought of ODB’s dedication at the beginning of “Baby I Got Your Money” and changed it a little. So:
this goes out to all the not-nice girls, the train wrecks, and the revolutionaries in the world, the tampon-throwers, the shit-kickers, and all the girls who got the swag pumping out their ovaries too.
