Chicago? Hey people who live there: I am going to Chicago on 12/15 - 12/17 for work then I’m gonna pay to stay over on that Saturday night on my own fancy pants dime… maybe stay with a friend though. But anyways, I need to bargain it up for my hotel because even expensed I like to be frugal (I figure if I’m cheaper then my company will be less likely to be all nooooo you can’t travel). My office is near the bean, where should I stay?

I usually stay at Essex Inn. It’s in the middle of things (Grant Park view!), really nice for the price, and close to the train. Last week, I got a great room at Hotel Affinia for virtually nothing by watching the hotel deals on Gilt Groupe — FYI.

Palmer House Hilton is downtown, not far from the Bean. It’s about 150 a night, which is pretty good for being in the Loop.
