Guys and Dolls (Trailer) - Ed Sullivaaaaaan!!!
Today in my movie watching I’ve moved on to musicals (and wine)! My favorite guilty pleasures in the world are MUSICALS! and SHOWTUNES! It was a bonding point with my mother and I when I was little; she introduced me to her favorite musicals and this, “Guys and Dolls,” is one of her all-time favorites. She claims she named my little bro Nathan and I after the biblical characters, but Nathan Detroit and Sarah Brown are too main characters, so who knows? I used to perfect the song, “Adelaide’s Lament” in my bedroom as a little girl. Seriously though, this movie is chock full of amazing performances and it’s always good to see Marlon Brando and Frank Sinatra together.
In the queue today is of course, the above-mentioned and also “The Music Man.” But I desperately need to buy “Bye, Bye Birdie” on DVD; it’s my favorite, so good!
For my street cred, yesterday I watched “Animal House” and “Trading Places” and the day before it was “The Departed” and Curb Your Enthusiam, Season 1 … carry on.
