I got a pretty nice brand new phone today for $80 and did not sign a new contract. How you ask? Well, I’ll tell you…
My 3 year old phone just kinda broke today (as I stated earlier, see below), no reason really, it’s just old. So there were various ways I’m sure for me to try to charge it, but the phone is so old in phone years that there was no real point in trying to save it. Thinking I was due for an ugrade, I headed to Verizon to get a phone — I wasn’t available for an upgrade till April 30th and a phone was going to cost me at least $200. Motherfucker! The guy at the store saw how distraught I was — being an emotional girl has its advantages from time to time — so he helped me out. He told me to go buy an InPulse Verizon pay as you go phone from Best Buy and I could bring it back to the store and they would activate it for me under my account, as a non pay as you go phone, for free. It is the exact same phone they had in the store for $240, but I got it for a third of the price. And I didn’t have to sign another 2-year contract. You could do this too, promise! (Not sure about other carriers though…)
