Open minded yet underhanded
Earlier Sarah wrote about being open-minded. And this is a tangent, but earlier in the day a few people reblogged this picture that said something like, “I am hot and smart enough to be a pain in the ass,” which basically says I am confident in myself to a degree where I could give less than a damn if everyone else thinks I am a pain in the ass.
Well, I am happy enough as a person to give a damn if conservatives think my views are ‘closed minded.’
Sure, Christians can say they build upon their faith by questioning the existence of God and the Bible. That is all fine and great. But you know what?
My “closed-mindeness” does not impeded on others pursuit of happiness, unlike some prominent presidential candidate. I do not make friends then say, “Yes you are my buddy, I will walk through fire for you, but I believe there is an afterlife and in that afterlife YOU will BURN IN HELL.” Seriously. You can fuck off if you think that and want to be friends.
This ‘closed mindedness’ of liberals is some backward psychology by social conservatives and I will not have any of it. Can I just put it out there?
If you agree with John McCain on the issue of gay marriage and want to call me closed minded? I will not like you, and I will make damn sure not to like you even if everyone else in the world loves you and you shit rainbows and bunnies. Sorry. I am comfortable with myself enough to be considered closed minded.
