A discussion of Ms. Chen’s incendiary photo and other such things, which also links to my post about being open-minded, I keep trying to figure out if I’m being insulted (because in my world, it’s all about me!)… “‘That doesn’t change the minds of people we want to convince,’ the faux-open minded whine.” Damn.
I found this to be the juiciest morsel: “In the meantime, it will be the most purportedly liberal people who prove to be the most closed minded. There’s just something wrong with that, they sneer. Their inborn sense of the moral objects. It takes a lot of balls to be snobbier than a matriculating undergraduate at the dumbest university in the world.”
Liberal, naive closed-mindedness seems to come hand-in-hand with youth though (myself included — I’m only 24). The young students of the world know how to really lay it on thick.
