Hey! Don’t be bashing Marietta. We may have prejudiced people, but it’s not all awful. And it’s most definitely not a “small town.”Mob.Logic.tv’s Lindsey Campbell asking people on the streets of Georgia about their gay marriage opinions Once again it becomes very evident how backwards people still are in the South and this saddens me because I am from the south and can’t relate to the mindset 90% of these people have. There is one guy who blatantly says how behind the times the South is. That guy seems alright. It’s just painful how closed minded the South can be.
Considering it’s Cobb county, the percentage of decent folks in the video is actually better than I expected. Granted Marietta isn’t really “small town Georgia” (it’s actually an Atlanta suburb, with a cheesy town square and lots of strip malls) and I figure if they’d gone further north along I-75 the answers would get worse and worse.
Also, did the guy saying “I know someone who is gay” strike anyone else as the same “but I have black friends” bullshit line closeted racists like to use?
