Don’t get smug, baby.
I have a lot to learn about love, life, everything. And that’s kind of awesome to think about. In my head, I’m smart, savvy and full of potential and maybe I am to some extent, but I’ve got a long way to go before I’m a fully formed adult/person. And that’s okay, I don’t have to have everything all figured out right now.
Partially what prompted this thought today, in my film class while discussing some movie, my professor said, “It was unhealthy relationship obviously, she was relying on [character’s name] for her emotional well-being.” So I wrote down in my notes: “Sarah, do not rely on ANYONE for your emotional well-being.” And well, I realized I do have quite the tendency to rely on others for my emotional well-being. So from there it spiraled to me pondering lots of shit and well, it’s time to reevaluate my know-it-all, better-than-you attitude (among other things).
