Gas Crisis Insanity!
I’m really confused why I haven’t heard any national news on this, shit be crazy down here right now. It, of course, doesn’t affect me directly since I don’t drive, but it has affected everyone I know. Some points:
- “They” wanted to cancel the UGA game this weekend because no one can get gas. It would never happen, but I get the motivation. 100,000 or so people will be descending on Athens, Ga. this weekend and the only way to get there is to drive.
- Sonny Perdue will lose his job over this. It has been handled deplorably. Plus, he’s blamed the problem on the citizens of the state who are suffering and can’t get to work by calling it a “self-induced panic.”
- Asheville and Western NC also has it really bad. School has been cancelled this week in Asheville.
- Boyfriend had to walk to work this morning because he did not get gas before the panic began and now he is without. Plus public transit sucks in Atlanta.
- Although, I did take Marta yesterday and it was extra, extra crowded so most are finding solutions.
- But he and others could have gone and waited in hourlong lines just to fill up, like some of the lines I saw last night when my mom and I went to Whole Foods.
- Whole Foods is a couple miles away and there are about 7 or 8 gas stations on the way, only one had any gas.
That’s it. Just curious whether other parts of the nation are having these problems… I know it’s bad in NC too, but where else?
