I’ve come to some conclusions about octuplet lady with 6 other kids.
She is insane. Absolutely insane. She needs psychiatric help. “Go forth and multiply” is not a demand. She is like those women who have phantom pregnancies because they are so obsessed with having children but can’t, except she can. There is something wrong with her mentally. The facts as I understand them:
- She is a single woman in her 30s.
- She lives with her parents.
- She has 6 other children possibly from a sperm donor.
- She and her parents are somehow finding a way to pay for these six kids, no easy feat.
- She gets fertility treatments for who knows what reason and has 8 or so embryos implanted.
- Embryos possibly from same sperm donor.
- She does not selectively terminate any of the embryos.
- She has 8 babies and calls it a “miraculous experience.”
Someone responded to my last post on this topic with, “Choice goes both ways.” Okay I agree, it certainly does, but this was not the choice of a sane person. If you can’t get pregnant and choose to have fertility treatments and end up with multiples and do not terminate any, I do not begrudge you. But if you have 6 other children and no way to support yourself (without your parents) and choose to have 8 others: you should be stopped. 14 children is a drain on our system.
It scares me how far science has come with fertility, and this is a prime example of why.
