“The Distilled Spirits Council of the United States says Georgia is one of three states with a total Sunday ban on beer, wine and liquor sales at stores. The others are Connecticut and Indiana.”
Sunday alcohol sales debated again in Senate | ajc.com
WTF? We’re the only state in the South still clinging to this. Who knew? (via tastypiesinc)
I knew. It’s ridiculous. (via influent)
Well other Southern states don’t sell liquor on Sundays, but do sell beer and wine — whatever is available at the grocery store. North Carolina has ABC stores which are closed at like 7pm every day (I think, it may be 9pm) and closed on Sundays, you can only buy liquor at an ABC store. I don’t think this would be the best option for Georgia but it is so bizarre to go into a grocery store on a Sunday and just not be able to buy beer or wine. It is still there, you could steal it, you just can’t buy it. Insanity.
